The United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States to enhance cooperation in intellectual property protection. This agreement establishes a five-year program allowing American inventors to secure patents in the UAE, aiming to foster creativity and innovation, and contributing to the economic growth and sustainability of both nations.
The UAE has prioritized intellectual property protection, providing robust support for innovators through a comprehensive legislative framework and advanced technological infrastructure. The Ministry of Economy recently launched an integrated intellectual property system with 11 initiatives to support the UAE's shift to a knowledge-based economy. One key initiative, Patent Hive, aims to register 6,000 new patents in the UAE by 2026, encouraging inventors to secure and protect their innovations.
