The National Office of Oman has announced significant changes to its Power of Attorney (PoA) regulations, effective December 26, 2024. Under the new rules:
Direct PoA Requirement – PoAs must now be issued directly from the client to the local agent. Sub-delegated PoAs will no longer be accepted.
Three-Month Compliance Window – Any applications filed with a sub-delegated PoA must be updated within three months to prevent cancellation.
This update marks a major procedural shift, emphasizing the need for immediate action from intellectual property owners and agents managing filings in Oman. Ensuring compliance with the new framework is crucial to avoid disruptions.
At Dagher Intellectual Property, we are closely monitoring these regulatory changes and are ready to assist clients in navigating the new PoA requirements. Our team can help ensure a smooth transition, update existing applications, and provide strategic guidance to maintain compliance.
