On Wednesday, the twenty-first of September 2022, the New Administrative Capital witnessed a major event regarding intellectual property (IP). Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly unveiled the National Strategy for Intellectual Property in the presence of local and international dignitaries, including The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Director-General Daren Tang.
Such strategy will be considered a milestone for the future of IP in Egypt, as by going through the objectives of said IP strategy, a person in the field could imagine how significantly IP future would be changed in Egypt during the next five years, through achieving a bunch of objectives including: developing a National Authority for IP, fostering digital transformation, offering registration services using IT technologies in order to achieve institutional governance of IP, and modifying the IP legal framework.
